Henry "Hank" Bufkin of "Bufkin Air Designs & Fine Art Creations, LLC" has had a passion for art since he was a boy. Hank retired from a career as a Police Officer to pursue his life long dream for creating true-to-life art, and to spend time with family. He and his wife, Susan, have been married for over 25 years and enjoy living on the Gulf Coast.

Hank's private studio is located adjacent to his home in Mobile, Alabama, where he creates custom original works of art for a wide variety of clients. He creates unique pieces of art on many different types of "canvas", especially utilizing steel and copper. He has painted numerous award winning custom designs on motorcycles, cars, and trucks. In addition, he has created stunning murals for local restaurants, fine art galleries, and businesses, in the Mobile area as well as across the country. is displayed on the right as you enter the University of South Alabama's Library.

His interest in creating true to life works of art led him to develop a new technique, and also to develop his own hand tools with which he creates each new piece with. Over the last four years, working primarily on metal, he uses his specialized technique and tools, to bring his creations to life with stunning results. The first original piece he created using this technique is "Great White" a 40" x 48" Shark on steel, which is featured on our home page. The second piece he created "Beach" garnered the following review from the enthusiastic purchaser:

More than any other aspect of his work, Hank loves to bring a client's ideas and dreams to fruition. He is not limited to any one subject matter. He can create anything from Sea Life, Scenery, Animals, Birds, portraits, and more. Each one is expertly hand-etched and painted, in order to fulfill the client's desire. Hank's eye for detail is evident in every piece he creates. When commissioned to create a piece for a client, Hank and Susan will research each project so that every aspect is correct, and true to the specific subject. The client is also invited to follow the progress of their custom piece online, through Facebook, by Email, and when possible, in person. This gives the client immediate access to view the entire creative process as the piece of art is being developed in its various stages.

Hank has created awards for many national fishing tournaments, Master Angler awards, President's Art, original art for event merchandise, cover art for magazine publications, and has been the features artist at various events. As an ever-evolving artist, Hank has expanded his craft to include creating custom handcrafted fine furniture, as well as handcrafted frames.
